My research interest is in understanding mechanisms of preterm birth, particularly with respect to immune interactions at the maternal-fetal interface. Defects in particular immune system functions have been implicated in several pregnancy disease states. My research specifically investigates the role of specialized immune system cells, called T Regulatory cells, in preterm births that demonstrate a molecular phenotype of immunologic rejection.
